Gallbladder is such an organ that stays hidden inside human body and in the minds of anatomists and doctors. It receives and stores bile produced by the liver via the common hepatic duct and releases it via the common bile duct into the duodenum where the bile helps in the digestion of fats.
After meals the gallbladder is empty and flat like a deflated balloon. Its main function is to store bile that is produced from the liver. Bile helps in absorption of digested fat in food. Gallbladder a muscular membranous sac that stores and concentrates bile a fluid that is received from the liver and is important in digestion.
